This is me …
a Disciplined Creative
Anyone can be creative, right? I mean give kids (just please not my kids!) some flour — in a structured environment, on a cookie sheet — to play with while you bake, and they are going to inevitably create a gorgeous canvas all over your floor, ceiling, everywhere (except the cookie sheet, probably). It’s their masterpiece. Don’t tell them otherwise.
Being a disciplined creative is all about harnessing, tweaking, manipulating those creative juices to squeeze out the appropriate — focused — message. It’s the reason you are reading my website right now. You’ve tried to do it yourself. You’ve had fabulous, mind-blowing ideas, but they are lacking something, and you just aren’t sure what that is.
I’ve got it. No worries.
I’ve been that creative soul (covered in flour) since childhood. Baking, crafting, DIY projects — you name it. My early interests, before I fine-tuned the arts and honed my discipline, included fashion design, sewing, drawing and photography. So, it’s definitely in my recipe.
But, I’ve spent the last 15 years uber focused on graphic design — and more importantly brand design. Since transplanting from Croatia, (Yes, you’ll love my blunt Cro-English and irresistible accent that somehow makes the creative process even more fun!) I’ve built an impressive, award-winning graphic design career by corralling those careening creatives and managing the unmanageable projects.
I’ve come to realize the discipline we all seek in creative projects is even more important in brand design, which is of course why I love it so much. If the idea you’ve come up with doesn’t match your brand, I’ve got the guts to tell you (or, rather show you) how to do it better. My clients tell me I listen extremely well to them and hear what they aren’t saying, see what they can’t see. I’m proud of that reputation and am incredibly grateful so many of my clients trust me to fine-tune their visual brand message.
By this point in my bio, I’m sure you’ve realized I’m direct, honest and a ton of fun to work with. So, if you love Rottweilers (check out my rottie pup’s fun pics and reels on her very own Instagram account ) and cooking, particularly pasta making, then we really are a match made in heaven.
